Managing Micro Edge Policies in ETM Dashboard: Assignment

Overview

The Assignment tab details which Policies have been assigned to which appliance(s) and enables syncing of policies to appliances.

The main Assignment page displays a table listing your policies, organized by appliance. The table details which policies are assigned to each appliance and the sync status of each appliance.

This table also has the following global buttons:

Export CSV: export the table to a comma-separated file
Refresh: refresh the contents of the table

Provisioning an appliance

Provisioning pushes a policy to one or more appliances for the first time. If the appliance already has one or more policies in place and you just need to sync/update those policies, see Syncing a policy below.

In order to push a policy to an appliance(s), you must first select it in the table. This will enable the Provision button.

Click Provision
In Step 2 Policies, select one or more policies to assign to this appliance and click Edit Policy Order
In Step 3 Policy Order, you can change the order in which the policies will be assigned to the appliance. This step is optional.
Click Sync

Syncing a policy

Syncing policies updates any existing policies on the appliance, matching their settings to the policy configuration in ETM Dashboard.

In order to sync a policy to an appliance(s), you must first select it in the table. This will enable the Sync Now button: click Sync Now to update all resident policies on the appliance.

Assigning global templates

If a policy includes global templates (DNS server, dynamic blocklists, and so forth), those templates are provisioned or synced via the processes above.

Unassigning policies

To remove all policies assigned to the specified appliance, click the Unassign Policies button.

View Rules

This option displays all Rules created by a policy on the selected appliance, along with details about the type of rule and which policy it is derived from.
