Blocking ads with Web Filter and Application Control

Overview

Blocking ads can be difficult. Our Ad Blocker app does its best, but there are a few other steps you can take to minimize the amount of ad content your network encounters.

Web Filter

Go to Web Filter > Categories and block the Web Advertisements category. This can help block HTTP & HTTPS ad content that Ad Blocker misses.

Application Control

You may also wish to block advertising services through Application Control. Go to Application Control > Applications and search for advert (to show results for both advertising and advertise):

Block or tarpit all applications returned through that search.
