Managing Multifactor Authentication for the NG Firewall admin GUI

Overview

NG Firewall enables the admin to require a Time-based One-Time Password code in addition to username & password when logging into the admin GUI.

You can link the TOTP authenticator app of your choice to this NG Firewall.

 

Adding TOTP to NG Firewall

This option is configured in ETM Dashboard.

  1. Go to Appliances > Appliances and select the appliance to add TOTP to.
  2. Click the TOTP button at the top of the page.

  3. The TOTP menu is displayed. Click Show QR Code to display a QR code.
  4. Capture the QR code using your TOTP app.
  5. Click Add in ETM Dashboard to sync the TOTP code requirement to the NG Firewall. A "success" message appears at the top of the page.

Logging into NG Firewall with TOTP

The admin GUI login page now includes a prompt for a TOTP code. Enter the code from your TOTP app into this field.

Removing TOTP from NG Firewall

You can remove the TOTP requirement from NG Firewall in ETM Dashboard.

  1. Go to Appliances > Appliances and select the appliance to add TOTP to.
  2. Click the TOTP button at the top of the page.

  3. The TOTP menu is displayed, noting that this appliance already has the TOTP requirement enabled. Click Remove to disable this requirement.

  4. A "removed successfully" message appears at the top of the page.
