Troubleshooting duplexing issues

If your interfaces are set to auto-negotiate and you are noticing that you have a duplexing issue on your hands, here are a few things that you can try:

  1. Check the health of the network cable and change if needed

  2. Manually change the duplexing settings to force a match between your NG Firewall interface and the device at the other end of the cable

  3. Place a small switch in between your NG Firewall and the upstream device

  4. If your NG Firewall is set up in bridge mode, connect your NG Firewall to the upstream router with a crossover cable
