Managing Micro Edge Policies in ETM Dashboard: Policies

Overview

A Policy is a grouping of settings which enables the admin to maintain a consistent configuration across one or more appliances. Policies are created in and applied from ETM Dashboard, removing the need to individually configure Micro Edge appliances.

A Policy can be used to apply or synchronize network or service settings; to ensure new deployments are activated with minimal time spent in initial configuration; and to enforce consistency in an environment with multiple Micro Edge deployments.

Managing Policies

The Policies tab shows an overview of all current Policies as well as options to Create New and Create Default. The table's contents can be refreshed or exported as a comma-separated (CSV) file using the buttons along the top.

Create New Policy

This option is used to create a new policy which is not a Default Policy. I.e., it is used to create exceptions, policies specific to certain deployments or situations, or other instances where you have a need for a Policy which is not covered by a Default Policy.

Create Default Policy

This option creates a new Default Policy, which is a baseline policy that applies your standard or default settings. A Default Policy can be used as a staging policy for new deployments or to enforce standard settings in existing deployments.
