Managing Micro Edge Policies in ETM Dashboard: Profiles

Overview

A Profile is a grouping of one or more Policy objects, including Policies, Rules, and global Templates. A Profile is configured entirely in ETM Dashboard and enables the admin to centrally configure one or more appliances.

It is important to note that a given appliance can only belong to a single Profile.

The general Profiles tab displays a listing of all Profiles and details which Policies and global Templates each contains, as well as the appliances the Profile is assigned to and its last edited date.

Creating a new Profile

Click the Create New button to begin creating a new profile.

  1. Give your Profile a Name (which must be unique)
  2. Provide a Description of the profile
  3. Click Add Policies to choose one or more Policies to associate with this Profile. Any Rules which are part of the selected Policies will automatically be populated into the Rules tab.
  4. In the Global Templates tab, you can select the desired configuration for global Templates: Use default settings uses the defaults configured in your Policy and will overwrite the target appliance's current settings. Keep current settings retains the appliance's existing settings. If you have configured any custom global Templates, these will also appear as options in the drop-down.
  5. In the Appliances tab, click Add Appliances to add one or more appliances to your Profile. You may remove appliances with the Remove Selected button as needed.
  6. Click Save to finish creating your Profile.
