Bypassing devices for troubleshooting

If you believe that one of the applications is causing an issue or is part of a problem that you are experiencing, rather than turning off the applications, which can cause other issues, here is an easier way of determining if an app is causing the issue.

  1. Choose one device to use for testing.

  2. Get the IP of the device.

  3. Create two bypass rules (Config > Network > Bypass Rules) :
    • The 1st rule will be Source Address = IP of test device
      bypass_src.png

    • The second rule will be Destination Address = IP of test device
      bypass_dest.png

These rules will make sure that no app is affecting the test traffic on that IP. If the bypass works, you will then need to determine which of the apps is the culprit.
