Micro Edge Overview

Overview

Micro Edge is a lightweight network edge router that optimizes application performance, leverages multiple WANs to maintain Internet connectivity, and connects remote networks via an encrypted software defined network.

Deployment

You can deploy Micro Edge as a hardware appliance, or as a virtual appliance with VMware. You can administer Micro Edge from the local network or remotely using Arista Edge Threat Management's central management platform, ETH Dashboard.

Licensing

Micro Edge software requires a subscription license paid monthly, annually, or as a three year subscription.

Note: Micro Edge functions in a restricted mode until you apply an active subscription. In restricted mode, you cannot add VLAN or VPN interfaces or enable services such as Threat Prevention or Web Filtering. To apply a subscription see How to assign a subscription to Micro Edge.
